Opening Concert: A journey through Afro Diasporic rhythm from West Africa, to the Caribbean, to modern jazz in America focusing on the influence Tap Dance had on the development of Jazz's rhythmic vocabulary in the past, present, and future of the form featuring tap dancer Chandler Browne, Las BomPlaneras, and Chicago poet laureate Mayda Del Valle.
